Page 4 of this story is one of my favorite comic book pages, ever.

The little fake-out - the panel that at first reads like the corpse denying that he's a corpse, but as you read on turns out to be Cerebus telling the corpse to deny that he's a corpse, is just an awesome example of playing with how readers read comics.

Hey! I was just about to say something very similar. It's a narrative trick unique to the medium.

Is there any other Cerebus story where he's seen wearing a furry vest like this one instead of his usual solid black number? I like to think it's an additional little joke Dave squeezed in - Cerebus is in a snowy, wintery environment here, so he's swapped his normal vest for a warmer one. Then wanders round almost naked as usual.

I like that Cerebus was actually drunk enough to even consider hanging around with some guy. I guess he liked him because he didn't say much.
